StudyPro
Security and ownership

We're the printing press, not the publisher.

Under this model you hand us your material. So the contract, the architecture and the upload flow all have to say the same thing: it's yours, it's isolated, nothing is invented, and you can leave with it any day.

The six questions

What you'll ask in the first meeting, answered before it.

  • Who owns what I upload?

You do. We claim no rights to it, we never reuse it, we never redistribute it, and we never use it to train any model. It's in the agreement.

  • Could another centre ever see my material?

No. Your centre's space is isolated from every other centre's, and your material is never shared with or reused for another customer.

  • Do you train AI on my content?

No. Not on your material, not on your students' answers, not anonymised. We make the same commitment in our own contracts with the providers we use.

  • Where is my students' data stored?

Australia, in an isolated space for your centre. New Zealand centres are hosted in Australia too.

  • What happens if I leave?

Your own originals never left your drive; you uploaded copies. Access ends at the end of the term you have paid for, and we delete our copies within 30 days and confirm it in writing.

  • Will you contact my parents?

Never. We don't hold their details for any purpose other than sending the reports you approve, from your address.

Isolation

Isolated per centre, hosted in Australia.

Your material, your students and your reports are separated from every other centre's, and nothing you upload is ever reused for anyone else. That is a contractual promise, not a setting.

no shared material, no shared students, no shared reports
Hosted in Australia. Every centre's space is isolated from every other centre's, and nothing a centre uploads is ever used for anyone else.
  • 01
    Your material stays yours

We claim no rights to it, never reuse it, never redistribute it, and never train anything on it. In the agreement.

  • 02
    Isolated from every other centre

Your content, your students and your reports are never shared with, visible to, or reused for another centre. Hosted in Australia.

  • 03
    Nothing is invented

Every question and explanation cites the page it came from. Anything that can't be traced is rejected. You approve before publish.

  • 04
    Your parents never see us

Reports carry your logo and come from your address. We don't hold parent details for any other purpose.

Nothing is invented

Every item traces to a page, or it doesn't exist.

This is the constraint that keeps authorship, and blame, where it belongs. When a question looks wrong, you click through to the worksheet it came from.

Maya makes 2/3 of a recipe that needs 3/4 cup of sugar. How much sugar does she use?

Worked solution

Multiply the fraction of the recipe by the amount: 2/3 × 3/4 = 6/12 = 1/2 cup.

Anything that can't be traced to a page is rejected before you ever see it.
What we hold, and don't

Collect less.

The privacy decision that matters most is what we never store.

  • StudentsFirst name, initial, class. No date of birth, no student email, no photo.
  • ParentsOne email address per student, used only to send the report you approve, from your address.
  • TutorsName and work email for their login.
  • MaterialYour uploads, the converted sets, and a rights basis recorded per document.
  • ResultsAnswers, marks, time on task, hints used. Yours, visible in your dashboard, deleted when you leave.
  • MessagingNo student-to-student messaging, no public profiles. Tutor-to-student messages are a per-centre setting, off by default.
Practices
  • Hosted in Australia

Australian infrastructure, with each centre's data isolated from every other centre's.

  • Nothing leaves the platform

No downloads, no printing, no screenshots, for anyone. Access ends the day a student leaves your class.

  • Encrypted

In transit and at rest. Backups encrypted and tested.

  • Rights basis per document

Own, licensed, statutory licence, or unknown. Captured at upload, never retrofitted.

  • No training, contractually

Our own contracts with model providers exclude training on customer data.

  • Breach notification

Assessed and notified under the Privacy Act 1988 (AU) and Privacy Act 2020 (NZ).

  • Sub-processors published

Hosting, email and model providers listed in the privacy policy and kept current.

  • Takedown process

A named responder and a documented process if anyone questions a document's rights.

  • Deletion in writing

Within 30 days of leaving, confirmed by email.

Copyright

Your material, and the parts that aren't.

Material you wrote needs no licence. Copies from published texts usually do. In Australia the Statutory Education Licence covers tutoring organisations. In New Zealand a for-profit centre generally needs a CLNZ business licence. We ask at upload and record the answer per document. None of this is legal advice; confirm your position with your adviser.

Get the material rights register
Who owns what I upload?
You do. We claim no rights to your material or anything derived from it. We never reuse it, never redistribute it, and never use it to train any model. That's in the agreement, not just the sales pitch.
Could another centre ever see my material?
No. Your centre's space is isolated from every other centre's. Your content, your students and your reports are never shared with, visible to, or reused for another centre. Your material is your business.
Do you train AI on my content?
No. Not on your material, not on your students' answers, not in anonymised form. We make the same commitment in our own contracts with the providers we use.
Will you contact my parents?
Never. We don't hold their details for any purpose other than sending the reports you approve, from your address, with your name on them. Your parents never see our name.
What happens if I leave?
Your own originals never left your drive. You uploaded copies of them, and what we built from those copies lives on the platform. When you stop, access ends at the end of the term you have paid for, and we delete our copies within 30 days and confirm it in writing.
What student information do you hold?
As little as possible. A centre can run on first name, initial and a class. We don't need dates of birth or student email addresses. Less data held means less risk for you and shorter answers to every privacy question.
Where is the data hosted?
In Australia, in an isolated space for your centre. New Zealand centres are hosted in Australia too, which keeps the platform within the Australian privacy regime and inside a working-day timezone.
Do I need a Statutory Education Licence?
If you copy from published textbooks, you should hold one regardless of us. The licence covers tutoring organisations, not just schools. We ask about it at upload, and each document records its rights basis. In New Zealand the licence regime is different and a for-profit centre generally needs a CLNZ business licence. Confirm your position with your own adviser.
Does it work with my scheduling or billing software?
It doesn't overlap with it. Keep TutorCruncher, Teachworks or whatever you use for rosters and invoices. We're the part with your teaching material in it. Student lists can be imported from a spreadsheet.
Can I use it across two campuses?
Yes. Same material, separate classes and reporting per site, and an owner view across both. Additional campuses are priced per site.
Is there an export?
No. It is a hosted service and nothing downloads from it, for a student or for you. That is the same rule that stops a student walking off with your worksheets. What protects you is that you never gave up your originals: you uploaded copies and kept the folder. If you leave, access ends and we delete our copies within 30 days, confirmed in writing.
Next step

Ask us the hard version of any of these.

The walkthrough is where owners ask about IP, isolation and training. Ask the awkward one. We'd rather answer it now than in week six.
