Statutory Education Licence
The Australian licence that lets educational institutions, including tutoring organisations, copy limited portions of published works.
Under the Copyright Act 1968, a statutory licence administered by the Copyright Agency allows schools, TAFEs and around a thousand private providers, explicitly including tutoring organisations, to copy up to 10% or one chapter of a published work for educational purposes, in return for a fee.
For a centre it's the thing that makes photocopying from textbooks legitimate. Whether the licence also covers uploading that material to a third-party platform for conversion is a question for the Copyright Agency or a lawyer, not for a software company. Material the centre wrote itself needs no licence at all.
