Selective test

Entrance tests for selective government schools: NSW Selective, Victorian select-entry, WA GATE, SA Ignite, Queensland Academies.

Competitive tests that decide entry to selective or academically focused government schools. The names and years differ by state: the Selective High School Placement Test in Year 6 in New South Wales, the select-entry exam in Year 8 in Victoria, GATE in Year 6 in Western Australia, Ignite in Year 6 in South Australia, and Queensland Academies entry from Year 6. Preparation programs are a large part of many centres' business.
